The Mogra Lehenga
An archaic ritual to ward off the evil eye was to stitch small pieces of mirrors into the fabric, this belief has trickled down into our culture over time and is now an irreplaceable element of Indian Festive wear.
This Nazar-proof ensemble features intricate shisha embroidery on the choli in a concentric pattern on the front and an oval cut out bordered by mirror work embroidery at the back fastened with embroidered silk tassels. This Choli is paired with an organic cotton lehenga adorned with silver gota lines along the length and floral motif border in madder red and pink at the hemline. The look is completed with a vibrant floral printed dupatta in the shades of Madder Red and Pink characterised by delicate gota work and scallop-edged hemlines.
Note: The choli comes with padding which can be removed upon request and the lehenga is lined with crepe and cancan at its hem.
Note: To save you from the unnecessary hassle due to size concerns, we ensure that every piece made at ILAMRA comes with a generous 3-4 inch margin, which can be easily opened up and make your garment considerably bigger.
